Warwickshire Food and Drink

by | Aug 24, 2017 | events |

The appetite for local food and drink is huge and growing. But as an industry how do we best market what we produce and how can busy buyers best access what is on offer?

At Warwickshire Food and Drink Expo, Comesto will be showcasing how its unique procurement platform assists local buyers and suppliers do business together.

Warwickshire Food and Drink Expo is an exciting trade event for both buyers and suppliers being held at the Warwickshire Golf and Country Club on 22nd of November.

A great opportunity for hospitality and retail buyers to find out more about the exciting range of quality goods available from the region and a great way for producers to showcase their goods to a huge number of interested buyers.

Comesto is exhibiting at the event, a digital platform for the food and drink industry with the aim of enabling buyers and suppliers to do business faster, more imaginatively and more profitably. And although we operate nationwide, we promote an ethos of buying local and as we are Warwickshire based we really wanted to get involved.

Event organisers Warwickshire County Council and Shakespeare’s England are providing buyers with an opportunity to meet up and do business with the area’s best local F&B producers.  And with both Shakespeare’s Stratford, Warwick Castle and a diverse range of other attractions, the area has a huge tourist pull and also a sophisticated local dining and drinking scene all demanding the best.

Why buying local is important and profitable

Increasingly tourists want to try food and drink from the area they are visiting, something new to taste – and for locals, it’s a sense of supporting your local economy and a knowledge of the quality of the goods. Venue operators know this and want to buy local.

Visit a restaurant or bar in Stratford upon Avon and you will see local drinks firms such as Purity Brewing  or Shakespeare Distillery proudly promoted to customers, (and both are exhibiting at the expo). Both have powerful branding, a great reputation and not just in local markets.

Drinks and other packaged items can sell through branding, but what about a service, ingredients or plated items? Well here it’s all about reputation and again in Stratford on many a menu you will see ‘Meat provided by Aubrey Allen, or Barry the Butcher.’ The chef/owner has bought into the reputation and respects the quality and even with no branding to identify the goods the reputation in each case is strong enough to flag up to diners the provenance of the meat supplied.

Great products, something new, distinct choices bringing in customers purchasing premium goods. The pulling power and commercial sense of buying local.

So why not book a stand, or visit to find out what’s on offer

Trade shows are a great way of doing business. Getting in front of buyers, offering samples, talking prices, meeting people who need what you have to sell. And for buyers simply taking time out to consider what your business needs and road testing what’s on offer and you don’t need to be Warwickshire based to come along to our exhibition and find out more about what is on offer to purchase for your business.

And that business doesn’t stop when you leave the show!

We are offering all exhibitors and buyers two months free access to Comesto. Which means that you leave the show digitally connected to a great potential supplier base, or a direct method of marketing to every buyer that attended the event. Turning a quick conversation on a stand into a lasting business relationship.

All Comesto clients receive a free platform to promote their business, free entry level software to run the back office and for our buyers, a search and compare tool for smart purchasing.

From your portal you can connect with local businesses
